A Solenoid is a category of magnetized devices that utilize a moveable iron core to convert electric energy into mechanical linear kinetic energy. Solenoids are ideal for use as a self-correcting, self-compensating, or otherwise autonomous mechanism within a machine. For this reason they are widely employed inside both civil and military hardware as a part of controller/regulator circuit systems.[1]
