The Shichishitō (七支刀 or 七枝刀, Seven-Branched Sword) is believed to have been brought to Japan from the Kingdom of Baekje in the Korean Peninsula. This sword is unique with its seven pointed tips. Only one sword remains, preserved in the Isonokami Shrine, but its origin, the time when it was brought to Japan, and the purpose of the sword are still shrouded in mystery. The sword is also known by the name "Nanatsusaya no Tachi" (The Sword of Seven Sheaths).[1]
